Notes: | At the end of the credits, it says ‘IN LOVING MEMORY OF: WILLIAM GAINES’. William Gaines (aka Bill Gaines), was the publisher and co-editor of EC Comics, which published the “Tales from the Crypt” comic series along with its related comics “The Vault of Horror” and “The Haunt of Fear”.
Page 5 of the English manual (page 2 of the Spanish manual) references a video mode where “the player will interface with the Display to help the Crypt Keeper defeat foes.” This mode as described did not appear on the games leaving the factory. John Borg told us that he did develop the Door Prize select video sequence. *Info Courtesy of IPDB |

TALES FROM THE CRYPT
Short-Run Reproduction Playfields from CPR
FIRST TIME AVAILABLE IN THE HOBBY ! New release for October 2024. Finally! A reproduction playfield for Tales From The Crypt, a DataEast classic. Can you hear the cackle? These were produced using CPR’s proprietary Silkscreen-Digital-Hybrid process. It was the only way to provide the genuine Neon Green (“dayglo green”) florescent layer used throughout the artwork. These must be priced somewhat higher than normal-printed playfields. Depending on sales results, we’ll try to keep these in standard rotation from now on. 5-layer polyeurethane clearcoated. Complete gallery with close-ups for your consideration. As with all our small-batch runs, consider these “get them while they’re available!”
